Steven Ray Moody, age 47, of Double Springs passed away Friday July 10, 2026, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
He was born May 22, 1979 to Royce and Brenda Moody. Steven loved with a passion to hunt and fish with his son Brantley and whomever wanted to go.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 6 years and continued his public service in law enforcement for over 10 years. Steven was a peacemaker and a light to all who knew him.
He loved people with a heart of gold and was a die-hard Tennessee fan, he himself was a great athlete growing up. Steven’s most important and number one thing in his life was making sure his children were taken care of and loved.
Visitation will be Monday July 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church in Double Springs where the service will be held the following day on Tuesday July 14 at 2:00 p.m. Brother Chad Wise and Brother Jeff Wiggins will officiate. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery.
Steven is survived by his parents, Royce and Brenda Moody; sister, Amanda (Brandon) Key; sons, Brantley Ray Moody and Elliot Rhys Moody; daughters, Ella Blayke and Makenzie (Jay) Ingram; granddaughter, Layla Ingram; lifelong brother by choice, Benji Curtis; aunt, Kathy (Bill) Marks; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by Johnnie Lee and Junie Idella Robins; Hazel Garrison, Leldon Garrison, Chester “Check” Moody; dear friend Jared Prestridge; cousins, Jonathan Gunter, Johnny Young, Chris Robins, Anthony McGaughy, and Uncle Robert Moody.
