Carolyn Jean Ferguson, age 85, of Haleyville passed away Wednesday May 27, 2026, at Haleyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was born August 14, 1940 to Ted and Martha Opal Smith in Praco, Alabama.
Visitation will be Monday June 1, 2026, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville where the service will be held at 2:00p.m. Burial will be at Poplar Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Johnny Gunter will officiate.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Johnny Albritton; daughter, Terry (Shane) Davis; grandsons, Joshua (Crystal) Albritton and Aaron (Danielle) Holder; granddaughters, Brandi (Aaron) Albritton, Brittanie (Darrin) Braxton, Cassandra Holder, and Sha (Fernando) Woods; and twenty great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Almus and Emma Hogan; father, Ted Smith; mother, Martha Opal Smith; sisters, Cheryl Smith and Gwendolyn Sanford; son, Wayne Albritton; granddaughter, Zena Glass; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Albritton.
