Haleyville Fire Department was dispatched just before 6:30 this morning to a single-vehicle accident on Highway 13 near Delmar.
Upon arrival, firefighters located the vehicle off the roadway in trees. Crews used chainsaws to gain access to the crash site and deployed extrication tools to free the vehicle’s occupants, who were trapped inside. Both individuals sustained injuries and were airlifted to UAB Hospital.
Highway 13 was closed while emergency responders worked the scene and arranged for the airlifts.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continues to investigate.
