Tommy Joe Moore, age 66, Double Springs, AL. passed away Friday August 22, 2025. He began his law enforcement career with the Winston County Sheriff’s Department 1987 as a Reserve Deputy, then a full time Deputy, Investigator, Chief Investigator, Chief Deputy, worked with the District Attorney’s Office as Investigator, then served as Sheriff of Winston County.
Visitation will be Friday August 29, 2025 from 12:00NOON – 2:00PM at Fairview Baptist Church in Double Springs, AL. Funeral service at 2:00PM in the church, with Bro. Abe Rooks officiating. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

He is survived by his children, Dana (Steven) Shook, Melissa Lolley, Damien (Casey) Maze and Shae (Patrick) Burnette;2 sisters, Sandra (David) Speakman and Terri Roden; 1 brother, Steve Moore; grandchildren, Makenzie (Robbie) Berger, Devin Shook, Hannah Morgan, Dawton Shook, Jada Shook, Jadden Shook, Brennon Roloff, Jorden Roloff, Crimson Maze, Kynlee Burnette, Taylor Burnette and Charley Burnette; great grandchildren, Jenson Berger, Khloe Shook, Bankston Berger and Luxten Rowe;
a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Horace Moore; wife, Shelia Moore.
