Sharon Raye Wakefield Cagle, age 79, Moreland Community, passed away Tuesday July 29, 2025. She had worked with Winston Co. Tax Assessor office and attended Church of the Forest.
Visitation will be Thursday July 31, 2025 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at New Home Baptist Church in the Moreland Community. Funeral service on Friday August 1, 2025 at 1:00PM at the church, with her son in law, Kyle Cannerday officiating. Burial to follow in Moreland Cemetery. She will lie in state from 12:00NOON – 1:00PM at the church before the service.
She is survived by her 3 children, Tammie Linette Cannerday (her husband Kyle), Edward Keith Cagle (his wife Mischelle) and Olan Bradley Cagle (and Tina Winkles); her sister, Rebecca Wakefield Reeves; her 8 grandchildren, Ivory Belle Hazel (her husband Ryan), Isaac Edward Cagle, Ila Raye Cagle (and Justin Simon), Levi Olen Cagle (his wife Kim), Cierra Ruth Conner, Grace Ellen Nodine (her husband Jared), Billy Edward Austin Winkles (his wife Hannah) and Amanda Leighann Brown (her husband Andrew); 9 great grandchildren, Keenan and Brayan Cagle, Eben, Hudson and Judah Cagle, Jared II and Caroline Nodine and Gunner and Leigh Era Winkles: a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edward J. Cagle; mother, Ora Wakefield Thomas and step dad Bill Thomas; dad, Olen Wakefield and step-mom, Marie Wakefield; brother, Olen Larry Wakefield.
