The National Weather Service says straight-line winds in excess of 60 miles an hour are to blame for the storm damage Saturday afternoon.
Road and utility crews have worked all weekend to clear downed trees and power lines across Marion and Winston Counties. More than 30 thousand people in our listening area lost power due to Saturday’s storm.
In a press conference today, Winston County Commission Chairman David Cummings said more than 300 trees were blocking roadways throughout Winston County.
