Ronald T. Cochran, born March 7, 1952, of Phil Campbell, Alabama, was a man deeply shaped by the land, music, and history he loved. He found meaning in nature, family, and the stories that connect us across generations.
Ron has always had a deep love of the outdoors — camping, hiking, creek days, and quietly observing the natural world. He was a student of history and genealogy, with a particular appreciation for his ancestry. Music has been a constant companion throughout his life, offering comfort, reflection, and connection. He worked for over 40 years at NTN Bower in Hamilton until his retirement and was so proud of his leadership in the union.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Bill Cochran, Roberta BoBo Cochran and his brother Jerry Cochran.
He is survived by his daughters, Penny Cochran (Steve), Lori Ingram Raper, and Andi Cochran Sigsbey (husband, Ryan); his grandchildren, Randy Cochran (wife, Jenna), Kylie Ingram, Katilyn Sloas (husband, Jimmy), Leif Sigsbey, and Arlo Sigsbey; and his great-grandchild, Witt Cochran, who has brought him immense joy. His brother, Scott Cochran and beloved nephews, Caleb, Corey (Lauren) and Collin Cochran and great nieces and great nephew.
A family-led service honoring Ron’s life will be held at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville, Alabama on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Jason Swinney, Bro. Bobby Stancil, and Andi Cochran Sigsbey will speak at the service and granddaughter, Katilyn Sloas, will sing. The visitation time with the family is 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Edgar Chapel.
The pallbearers will be Ryan Sigsbey, Caleb Cochran, Corey Cochran, Jimmy Sloas, Steve Swinney, and Randy Cochran. The honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Hall, Collin Cochran, and Terry Raper.
