Melvia Tidwell, age 94 of Double Springs, passed peacefully Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation. She was born February 08, 1931 to Henry and Vina Brewer.
Visitation will be Friday, September 19, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, Alabama where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Brother Mickey Millican and Brother Randy Jones will officiate. Burial Will take place at Williams Cemetery in the Black Pond Community.
Melvia is survived by her son, Terry (Rita) Tidwell; brothers, Jimmy (Cynthia) Brewer, Ronald Joe (Phyllis) Brewer; sister-in-law, Peggy Brewer; brother-in-law, Hoyt Posey; grandchildren, Sherry Parish, Amy (John) Comeens; great grandchildren, Austin Gay, Tanner Parrish, Miah Comeens, Ian Comeens; and great great grandchildren, Gracelyn Gay, and Baby Gay.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Tidwell; parents, Henry and Vina Jones Brewer; brothers, James Brewer, W.M. Brewer, John David Brewer, Waylon Brewer; sisters, Helen Alexander, Henrietta Posey, Elvie Cooper, and two infant sisters.
