Mary Elizabeth Godsey, age 66 of Double Springs, passed away March 3, 2026 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville.
She was born July 10, 1959 to Inas and Coralee Godsey. Mary loved her Lord and Savior most of all. She enjoyed reading her bible, helping in the community and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 07, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church #2 in Double Springs, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Curt Cagle will officiate.
Mary is survived by her sister, Betty Claborn; brothers, Eugene Godsey, Edmon (Tami) Godsey and Scottie (Charlotte) Godsey; nieces, Amy (Jeremy) Hughes, Rashea (Martin) Rivera, Tara (Carlie) Caton, Jennilee (Craig) Miller, Kimberly Godsey and Kacie Godsey; nephews, Charlie Godsey, Chris Godsey, Craig Godsey, Tim Godsey, Korey Godsey, Christoper Godsey, Jason Godsey, Duane MacLaren, Paul MacLaren, Bobby MacLaren, and Scott Claborn; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Inas and Coralee Godsey; brothers, Roy Godsey, Larrie Godsey, J.L. Godsey, Tommy Godsey, Robert Godsey and Terry Godsey.
