The Haleyville Lions have continued their dominance of golf in Alabama by winning their fourth straight State Championship. Played at Robert Trent Jones at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham, the Lions led the tournament by seven strokes at the end of Day 1 on Monday. They extended that lead on Day 2 to an incredible 43 strokes to clinch the title. The team’s only senior Hudson Lawson finishes his high school career with four team and three personal state championships. Lawson will play for Louisiana State University next season.
Congratulations to the players, their families for their support, Coaches White and Burleson for their leadership, and the school sports community for their pride in athletic programs. Roar Lions!
