The storms that moved through the area last night caused power outages for more than 27 hundred people in Winston, Marion, and Lamar Counties. Alabama Power and Tombigbee crews worked all night to restore service, but there are still a few outages they’re working on. High winds brought down trees and lines, the majority of which were in Marion County. No injuries have been reported to us so far.
Along with power outages came an interruption in internet service. Freedom Fiber says if you had a power outage and you still do not have internet, please reboot your equipment by unplugging both boxes, waiting 15 seconds and plugging them back in. If you see any lines down in your area, please contact Freedom Fiber at 205-498-8147 to let them know.
