Jean Stovall Glass age 89 of Phil Campbell / Decatur, passed away August 3, 2025.
Jean was a long-term resident of Phil Campbell spending her later years in Decatur. She was a member of Phil Campbell /Spruce Pine Methodist Church. Jean was a proud 1954 graduate of Phil Campbell High School. In her forties she went back to college and obtained a job with the State of Alabama Human Resources department in the Food Stamp office in Russellville, Alabama where she later retired. She was loved by her many friends and family in her two communities. In her later years one of her favorite things was to chat on the phone with many of her loved ones and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Phillip Stovall (Christal), and Brent Stovall (Linda); stepsons Andy Glass and Jeff Glass; as well as a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss Jean’s sweet outgoing personality.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Curtis L Stovall Jr., and John “Ruel” Glass. Parents, Julian Franklin Elliott and Betty Cleo Hester Elliott; Brothers, Leon Elliott, James Elliott; Sisters, Gladys Underwood, Frances MisKelley, Becky Troxtel, Haddie Mae Hagan, Betty Greenhill, and Patsy Sue Elliott.
Also, a special thanks to the staff of Regency Retirement Village Memory Care Unit, Huntsville, AL for all your love and care the past several years.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, from 10:30am-12:00pm with the funeral service following at noon in the Chapel of Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville. Interment will take place at Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville, AL.
