
HAMILTON POST—A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, has claimed the life of a Jasper teen. The 18-year-old was critically injured when the 2011 Nissan Sentra that the teen was driving struck a pothole. After the initial impact, the Nissan left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge rail. The juvenile was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. On Sunday, Dec. 22, the teen succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.
The crash occurred on Whitehouse Road near Industrial Parkway, approximately one mile south of Jasper, in Walker County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
