James Harold Taylor, age 72, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at his home.
Harold was truly a one-of-a-kind man. He loved his family fiercely and was a devoted husband, father, PawPaw, and great-PawPaw. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a faithful Christian. He was a longtime member of Frankfort Baptist Church, where he served for many years as both a deacon and Sunday School teacher.
As a young man, Harold proudly served his country in the National Guard. He later retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after 35 years of service as a bridge tender.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel. There will be no graveside service; however, burial will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Percy Taylor; his mother, Austell Taylor Terrell; his stepfather, L.G. Terrell; his brothers, William Taylor Jr., Ray Taylor, and Terry Taylor; and his sister, Margaret Taylor Everett.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 53 years, Glenda Taylor; his daughters, Lisa Marsh (Kenny), Amanda New (James), and Jamie Lindsey (Tommy); his granddaughters, Emma Armstrong (Will), Suzanne Marsh, and Sarah Smith (Elijah); his grandson, Cameron New; his great-grandchildren, Kennedy Mae Armstrong and William Alexander “Alex” James Armstrong; his brother, Tracy Terrell (Nancy); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Will Armstrong, Cameron New, Tracy Terrell, Chris Hutcheson, Brannon Hutcheson, and Mitch Moore.
