James Mason Boren, Sr., age 78 of Arley, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
He was born January 26, 1947 to Leldon and Edith Boren. Mason loved his family, especially his granddaughters. He enjoyed riding horses and was an avid outdoorsman. Mason was a talented mechanic who enjoyed working on trucks, equipment, and could fabricate or fix anything.
Mason is survived by his daughter, Teri (Nick) Brannon; son, Mason (Courtney) Boren; granddaughters, Mia Brannon, Maci Brannon, and Lily Boren; sisters, Claire Boren, Jane (Joe) Dean, and Ruth (Malcolm) Baty; brother, Jeff (Tina) Boren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leldon and Edith Boren; and brother, Eddie Boren.
At Mason’s Request, no public service will be held. Family will hold a private memorial service.
