Ida Odell Whitten, age 89 of Phil Campbell, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025.
She was born March 04, 1936 to William Gilford and Elefar Barton. Ida cherished her family more than anything.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Mars Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell. Brother John Barton will officiate.
Ida is survived by her children, Wayland (Vickie) Cagle, Doris Gosa, Lonnie (Shelia) Cagle, Jerry (Kathy) Cagle, Donnie (Donna) Whitten and Anthony Whitten; grandchildren, Dana Hill, Perry (Mattie) Cagle, Justin Mobley, Jason (Naomi) Mobley, Carissa Whitten, Lyle (Stacie) Cagle, Misty (Jay) Welborn, Cindy Johnson, Amy (Andrew) Ables, Donnie (Jessica) Gosa, Crystal (Micheal) Frost, Lisa (Thomas) Moore, Joseph (Beth) Cagle, Shanna Cagle, and Angel Cagle; and a host of great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Major Whitten; daughter, Shirley Cagle; parents, William and Elefar Barton; grandson, Tristan Day; granddaughter, Whitney Cagle; daughter-in-law, Kristine Whitten; brothers and sister, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
