The Haleyville Veterans Parade will take place on Saturday, and you are invited to attend! Line up for veterans will begin at 9:00 am at Haleyville Elementary School on 20th Street, and at 9:30 will proceed to the Veterans memorial on Highway 13 for a wreath laying at 9:45. Then at 10:00 am the parade will make its way through downtown. Please come out and show your support for our local veterans!
Later on Saturday: Garrison-Bonds Post 184 in Double Springs will host a veterans’ appreciation dinner, Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. Guest speaker will be Thanh Boyer, author of “The Ground Kisser” her memoir of the Vietnam War and aftermath. Her program will focus on patriotism, anticommunism, and gratitude for the people who fought for her and her family.
