The Haleyville City Council met today with Mayor Ray Boshell and all council members present, those being Todd Barton, Cade Lewis, Colton Corum, Julie “Boo” Brooks, and Brian Berry.
The council unanimously approved the minutes of their previous meeting held on June 15, 2026, and adopted a resolution to make a one-time contribution to the city’s RSA fund for city employees, totaling $9,080. The council also approved poll workers for the upcoming school board election. Both of these resolutions are included below in the entirety.
Councilman Brian Berry gave a recap of the “Red, White, and Haleyville” Independence Day event that was held July 4th at the Haleyville Sports Complex, where they served up a thousand hotdogs and 20 watermelons to the crowd. Berry then gave an update on the next event that will be held Saturday in downtown Haleyville. There will be a Hawaiian Lūʻau with barbecue sliders and pineapple given out, with fun for the whole family. The event is completely free and will take place at the Heart of Haleyville Park on 20th Street.
