The Haleyville City Council met for its regular meeting at 5:30 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026 with all members present, those being Mayor Ray Boshell and council members Todd Barton, Colton Corum, Cade Lewis, Brian Berry, and Julie “Boo” Brooks.
The council unanimously passed the following measures:
- Approve the minutes of the regular meeting held December 15, 2025.
- Approve Fiscal Year 2025-26 Budget.
- Purchase a set of turnout gear for Fireman Jared Crittenden.
- Approve the construction of a new building at the Haleyville airport in the amount of $35,833.
- Approve the purchase of a downtown building adjacent to the Heart of Haleyville Park to provide restroom facilities and meeting room in support of events held at the park, contingent upon a quote to make certain repairs to the drainage system.
- Approve leasing a 6-foot strip of city property to Derral Dobbs for use as the site of a dining deck for a restaurant.
- Advertise for sealed bids for timber removal and sale from industrial land owned by the city.
- Advertise job openings for two firemen in the Haleyville Fire Department, at a pay rate of $17.35 per hour and paid hours worked.
The next regular meeting will be held January 19, 2026 at 5:30 pm.
