Glenda Sue Blanton, age 74, Haleyville, AL. passed away Thursday February 19, 2026. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, school bus driver for 44 years with the Winston Co. Board of Education and worked at the Thrift Store.
Her visitation will be Sunday February 22, 2026 from 12:00NOON – 3:00PM at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Double Springs, AL. Funeral at 3:00PM in the church, with Bro. Jeremy Glenn and Bro. Brian Hutcheson officiating. Burial will be Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Kristie (Chris) Hyde, Jamie (Rachel) Blanton, Susan (Chuck) Frost, Wendy (Rodney) Lewis and John (Kristen) Blanton; grandchildren, Eli Hyde, Ryan (Brooke) Hyde, Dawson (Bryleigh) Hyde, Clay (Kaitlyn) Blanton, Marcus (Anna) Blanton, Emily Blanton, Tori Frost, Maranda (Matt) Wilson, Mariah (Mason) Logan, Cade (Kaley) Lewis, Carlee (Nick) Whitman, Jaylynn Lewis, Lonna Lewis, Malachi Blanton, Micah Blanton and Makale Blanton; great grandchildren, Rylan Hyde, Blakely Hyde, Ella Blanton, Cooper Blanton, Maggie Wilson, Mavery Logan, Stetson Lewis, Sawyer Lewis, Slade Whitman and unborn Great Grandbaby, Lilah Jo Hyde. sister, Barbara (Mark) Bowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Darrel Blanton; parents, Gilford and Betty Sue Fowler; grandparents, John Ganus and Katie Victoria Fowler , William Clyde and Emma Ruth Nelson; brothers, Jerry Fowler and Terry Fowler.
