Gary Hulon Sawyer, age 78, of Haleyville, passed away on December 8, 2025, at his home in Haleyville, Alabama.
He was born January 30th, 1947, to Willie Sawyer and Louise Hester of Parrish, Alabama. Gary was an avid deer hunter and loved his Alabama football. He loved to study and spend his time reading the Bible.
Visitation will be Friday, December 12th from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held Friday, December 12th at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Gary is survived by his sons, David Sawyer, Jeremy Sawyer, and Terrell Sawyer; grandchildren, Emma Sawyer and Blake Sawyer; sisters, Karen (David) Higginbotham and Cheryl Freeman; brother, Dewayne (Misty) Hester; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Sawyer; granddaughter, Ajah Sawyer; parents, Willie Sawyer and Louise Hester; and brother, Ronald Sawyer.
