
HAMILTON POST—A multi-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, has claimed the life of a Fayette woman.
Phyllis B. Thompson, 84, was critically injured when the 2009 Ford Focus that she was driving struck a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Bryan K. Wilson II, 26, of Bankston. After the initial impact, the Ford then struck a 1984 Chevrolet S-10 which was unoccupied. Thompson was injured and transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, Miss. for treatment.
Wilson was also injured and transported to Fayette Medical Center in Fayette for treatment. On Thursday, Dec. 26, Thompson succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital.
The crash occurred on Alabama 96 near Fayette County 21, approximately six miles west of Fayette, in Fayette County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Divion continue to investigate.
