Doug Thornton, age 62 of Logan, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Cullman Medical Center in Cullman.
He was born July 08, 1963 to Robert and Faye Thornton. Doug was a simple man, he loved to talk to anyone and enjoyed being around all his friends and family. He loved his grandchildren, and you could always find him outside. Doug was a big dreamer; he never let his disability stop him from living his life to the fullest. Logging was his passion, and he would often reminisce of those days. Doug loved his church family.
Visitation will be Monday, December 29, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Holy Ground Baptist Church in Crane Hill, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Robin Key will officiate.
Doug is survived by his children, Brian (Sosha) Thornton and Serena (Josh) Latorre; grandchildren, Bryson, Brylee, Brooklyn, Seath and Jacob; sister, Vicki (Dean) Allcorn; nephews, David (Cassie) Robinson, Weston Thornton and Brad Thornton; niece, Alexis (Zack) Hennington.
He is preceded in death by his parents, RD and Faye Thornton; and brother, Jeff Thornton.
