DeWanda Gail Postell, age 83 of Haleyville, Alabama passed away March 7, 2026. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville, Alabama. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Thornhill Cemetery.
Ms. Postell is survived by her children, Lynn (Bart) Hyde, Diane Nesbitt, Sandra Doss, Sharron (George) Shirey, Frankie Postell, Karen Bonner, Genetta Steien and Chris Brannon; brother, Billy (Fayrene) Whitman; brothers in law, Cotton Postell and Donnie Postell; sister in law, Luvoice Berry; grandchildren, Chris (Pam), Joey (Tracy), Adam (Mitzi), Ami Lynn (Chris), Kensley, Jake (Gracie), Dexter (Ashley), Kaleb, Jonathon, Hunter, Haley, Hanna, Whitney (Michael) and Deanna; 24 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Whitman and Dessie Kelly; and husband, L.C. Postell.
