Deanna Mechell Neal, age 62 of Double Springs, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Hospice Family Care in Huntsville.
She was born June 23, 1963. Mechell loved music, playing piano and saxophone. She loved her job, but most of all she loved spending time with family.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Double Springs, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Dennis Stewart will officiate.
Mechell is survived by her mother, Joe Ann Durham; brother, Greg (Theresa) Durham; grandchildren, Jacob Ivie and Gracie Atkisson; father-in-law, George Neal; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Neal; son, Heath Atkisson; father, Neil Durham.
