Dana June Whitten, age 55 of Phil Campbell, passed away Monday March 9, 2026 at North Alabama Medical Center.
She was born February 3, 1971 to James “Bud” and June Cummings. Dana was a very social person who was loved by many. She served as a “lunch lady” for many years at the Phil Campbell High School. Dana loved her family above all else. She especially enjoyed spending time with her mother, June- they did everything together. Of all her many titles she carried, “Nana” was her favorite one.
Visitation will be Friday March 13, 2026 at Akins Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Service will be Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Union Hill FCM in the East Franklin Community, where she will lie in state from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 Noon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Bro Darrel Rambo will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Isaac Cummings, Easton Cummings, Tristan Godsey, Dakota Mansell, Austin Riner, and Daniel Mansell.
Dana is survived by her; sons, Eli Snider (Sydney) and Ty Snider; daughter, Kristen Oliver (Josh); mother, June Cummings; grandchildren, Noah Oliver, Sam Oliver, Kenden Snider, Avie Lee Snider, and Anna James Oliver; brother, Donnie Cummings (Amanda); nephews, Isaac Cummings and Easton Cummings; and niece, Dara Grace Cummings.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis Whitten; father “Bud” Cummings; brother Darron Cummings; and sister, Donna Cummings.
