Billy Brooks, age 89, of Haleyville, Alabama passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was born June 17, 1936 in Hardin County, Tennessee. He retired from Warren Manufacturing in Birmingham, Alabama. He was an active member and deacon of Beech Grove Baptist Church (Haleyville) where he taught Sunday School for 50+ years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a faithful Godly man.
Visitation will be Friday August 15, 2025 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service Saturday August 16, 2025 at 11:00AM in the chapel, with Brent Palmer and Danny Brooks officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons Phillip Brooks, Danny Brooks (Karen); son in law, Charles Capelton; sister Mary Fuller (Darrell); grandchildren, Amber Counts (Jason), Ryan Brooks (Lise), Andrea Brooks, Kristen Sanders (Dylan), Jessica Amos (Rory); 10 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dee and Elvie Brooks; wife, Ruby Brooks; daughter Margaret Capelton; grandson Branden Capelton; and 11 siblings.
