Betty Jean Maze, age 90 of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, March 05, 2026 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1935 to Irvin and Octavia Gibson. Betty loved her family and everyone she met. She enjoyed sewing and cleaning her house. Betty was a member Maxwell chapel church for many years and loved her church family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Homes in Haleyville, Alabama, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Winston Memorial in Haleyville.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Terry) Marks and Regina (Justin Moore) Smith; grandchildren, Jesse (Haley) Smith and Matthew (Shyann) Smith; great grandchildren, Adriana (Fisher) Doyal, Caroline and Briar Smith, Brooklyn, Delilah and Reece Smith; and a host of many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Octavia Gibson; father of her children, Robert E. Colley; brothers, Bobby Gibson, Raymond Gibson, James Gibson, and Hershall Gibson; sisters, Canzadie Gibson and Ruby Cole; grandchildren, Adam Marks and Amanda Marks.
