Arlin Ray Greenhill – born September 3, 1947, peacefully passed away after a long battle with cancer on January 8, 2026 at Helen Keller Hospital at the age of 78.
Arlin grew up and lived most of his life in the Frankfort, Alabama community. He was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church, where in his younger years directed the church choir. He later moved back to the Frankfort community where he lived the remainder of his time here on earth with his loving and caring wife of 35 years, Paulette Greenhill.
He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Ray Greenhill, his parent Charles and Odessa Greenhill, his brother Jerry Greenhill and his mother-in-law Angie Hovater.
He leaves to cherish is memory, his wife Paulette Greenhill, his daughters, Teresa Wyatt (John), Paula Staggs (John); son, Ray McDaniel; Grandchildren, Josh Harrison, Paige Thrasher(Jamie), Jordan Greenhill, Ethan Greenhill, Hunter Wyatt (Ashley), John Staggs (Lexi), and Leslie Staggs (Blake); Great-grandchildren, Blakeleigh & Natalie Thrasher, Ellie, Sophia, Lynlie & Olivia Wyatt, Winston Staggs and Anna Flagler; a host of cousins and special friends.
Arlin had been battling cancer since 2013. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, specialist, friends & family that have helped him throughout the past 12 plus years and a VERY SPECIAL thank you to the Helen Keller nurses on 2nd Central, ICU, 4th Central that worked with him during his final stay at Helen Keller Hospital. They were all super kind and went out of their way to make everything as comfortable as possible for him and the entire family during this most difficult time.
There will be a small graveside service for family and friends on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Bolton Cemetery, 6600 County Road 84, Russellville, AL 35653.
Pallbearers will be Josh Harrison, Jordan Greenhill, John Staggs, Ethan Greenhill, Jamie Thrasher, Hunter Wyatt and Blake Daily.
Honorary Pallbearers: Ray McDaniel, Dwayne Greenhill, Bobby Hester, Johnny Elom and Jerry Elom.
